How Digital Lending Aggregators Like NeerCred Work
NeerCred Team · 11/6/2025
A digital lending aggregator - sometimes called a multi-lender marketplace - is a platform that collects your details once and matches you with eligible lending partners, rather than being a lender itself.
What an aggregator actually does
You share your profile and requirements once through a single digital application. The aggregator's role is to check your details against the eligibility criteria of its partner banks and NBFCs, and surface the offers you're actually likely to qualify for - saving you from applying separately, and repeatedly, to each lender one at a time.
What an aggregator does NOT do
An aggregator does not lend money itself, does not make the final credit decision, and does not disburse funds from its own balance sheet. The actual approval, interest rate, offer terms, and disbursal are all decided and executed by the partner bank or NBFC you're matched with - the aggregator's role ends at matching and, often, facilitating the digital application handoff.
Why this model can genuinely help borrowers
Since eligibility criteria and pricing differ meaningfully between lenders, checking your profile against several at once - rather than guessing which single bank to apply to - increases the odds of finding an offer that actually fits, without generating a separate hard credit inquiry for every lender you'd otherwise have applied to individually.
What to check about any aggregator you use
A legitimate aggregator should be transparent that it doesn't charge you a fee to compare or apply (any cost should come only from the actual lender, disclosed in their own KFS), should clearly disclose that its partner lenders - not the platform - make the final decision, and should only work with genuinely regulated banks and NBFCs, not unlicensed lenders.
A note on your data
Since an aggregator handles your personal and financial details to run this matching, it's worth checking how your data is used and shared - a transparent platform will disclose this clearly in its privacy policy rather than burying it.
NeerCred is a multi-lender marketplace, not a lender — we match you with regulated partner banks and NBFCs, who make the actual lending decision. No fees are charged by NeerCred; any lender deduction or charge is disclosed by the lender in the Key Fact Statement (KFS) and loan agreement before you proceed. See how it works and our compliance & disclosures for full details.
